Krystal Fortney is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Approved Clinical Supervisor, CEO, and dedicated advocate for Black mental health with a decade of experience, she is deeply committed to transforming mental health systems and empowering her community. Her career has primarily focused on pioneering strategic planning within large mental health systems, with a particular emphasis on urban community interventions, program sustainability, and impactful mental health program evaluation.
She has extensive experience in program development tailored to the unique mental health needs of youth and young adults and the black community. She has worked to create accessible, sustainable, and effective mental health services for those specialized populations. With a passion for building healthy mental health ecosystems, Krystal is dedicated to working closely with organizations to assist with designing and implementing strategic plans that promote resilience and growth.
Krystal is also a counselor educator and provides clinical supervision to counselors in training, helping them to hone their counseling skills, build personal brands, and develop pathways into entrepreneurship to expand their societal impact. Although Krystal is not accepting new counseling clients, she is offering clinical supervision for pre-licensed professional counselors in Tennessee who are seeking the LPC-MHSP credential. Tariq J. Pettis-Smith is a dedicated life coach and innovative mental health counselor who love to inspire others to achieve their goals. He is currently receiving supervision to obtain his counseling licenses as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Tennessee. He graduated with his Bachelor of Art degree from Western Kentucky University and received his master’s degree in Community Clinical Psychology from Norfolk State University.
Tariq has a special niche for counseling African American males and troubled teens. He specializes in behavioral issues, psychotic disorders, depression, anxiety, family issues, and self-esteem concerns.
Tariq has an extensive background in serving underprivileged youth, families, and impoverished adults. His background includes but is not limited to navigation of juvenile detention centers, counseling teen convicted felons, and counseling people with severe mental illnesses. He utilizes solution focused and reality therapy as his modality of treatment. He’s trained in cognitive behavioral therapy and behavioral interventions that support school age children. As a former athlete, Tariq has a gift of leading and guiding people to their desired destination. He is here to serve you by providing counseling, consultation, and training.

Krystal received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work with a minor in Psychology from Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN. Then obtained a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University. Krystal is passionate about creating a therapeutic legacy that embraces and exemplifies the empowerment of grace, understanding, and kindness for humanity. She offers her clients a tailored counseling experience that is safe, nonjudgemental, and relaxing. She has experience counseling diverse populations ranging from children, adolescents, couples, families, individuals, groups, and the senior population. Her approach to counseling is to gain a more profound understanding of human psychology using cognitive behavioral therapy, self-empowerment techniques, and person-centered approaches. Her goal is to collaboratively support clients to achieve self-awareness, personal growth, confidence, and a balanced life. Jeannette is a native New Yorker and a compassionate, dedicated mental health professional with a deep passion for helping others. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Tennessee Tech University and is committed to meeting clients where they are, providing them with a supportive and empathetic therapeutic experience.
With extensive experience working with adults, children, adolescents, and families from diverse backgrounds, Jeannette specializes in areas such as anxiety and depression, religious trauma, self-esteem and confidence building, and family and women’s issues, among others.
Beyond her work in mental health, Jeannette finds joy in dancing, cooking, spending time with family, and singing in her church’s worship team. She believes that balance and self-care are essential to overall well-being and strives to help her clients incorporate these values into their own lives. Crystal is a Memphis native and received her Bachelor's Degree in Communications and Philosophy from the University of Memphis. She then received her Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. Crystal has experience and a strong interest in counseling clients with severe trauma, anxiety, and women's issues. She enjoys working with adolescents, young adults, single mothers, families and building the African-American community and believes people have the capacity to become their best selves when given the right tools. Crystal is a progressive counselor who believes everyone is meant to live a life of victory and wholeness.
